The latest trail released on Nov. 10, 2020, by a research team from China suggested that electro-acupuncture (EA) resulted in less pain and better function at week 8 and these effects persisted through week 26. Intensive manual acupuncture (MA) had no benefit for KOA at week 8, although it showed benefits during follow‐up. Acupuncture therapy with both EA and MA was significantly effective than sham acupuncture.
